# Refer and earn with the affiliate program

> Earn commission for six months on every store you refer to Filemonk.

If you build Shopify stores, write about ecommerce, or simply recommend Filemonk to other merchants, the affiliate program pays you for it. You get a referral link, and anyone who installs Filemonk through it is tracked to you.

This runs outside the Filemonk app, on Mantle Affiliates, so there is nothing to switch on in your admin.

## What you earn

Commission runs from your referral's paid subscription, so a referral who stays on a free plan earns nothing until they upgrade.

## Set it up

1. Open the [Filemonk affiliate signup page](https://affiliates.heymantle.com/aff/join/6813d6c6-dfd0-4324-8efc-c5dbd454f723).
2. Click **Become an affiliate** and enter your details.
3. Add your payout details, so you can be paid once you cross the threshold.
4. Copy your referral link from the dashboard.

Use that link whenever you recommend Filemonk. Anyone installing the app on a Shopify store through it is credited to you, and you can follow their progress on the Mantle dashboard.

## Check your setup

Open your referral link in a private browsing window. It should take you to Filemonk's Shopify App Store listing. If it goes anywhere else, copy it again from the dashboard, since a truncated link loses the tracking.

## Troubleshooting

### A referral installed the app but isn't showing on my dashboard

They probably reached the App Store another way: searching for Filemonk directly, or clicking a different link, breaks the attribution. The install has to come through your referral link. Check the dashboard again after a short delay before assuming it was missed.

### My referral is showing but I have no commission

Commission is on paid plans. A referral on the free plan generates nothing until they subscribe, and it accrues from the point they do.

### I've earned commission but not been paid

Payouts start at $100 in earnings. Below that, the balance carries forward. Check your payout details are complete on the dashboard, since missing details hold a payment even when the threshold is met.

### I can't get into the affiliate dashboard

The dashboard is Mantle's rather than Filemonk's, so use the login details you set up when you joined, and its own password reset. If that fails, contact Filemonk support and they can point you the right way.
