# Add the download link to tracking info

> Put the download page where Shopify shows tracking, so customers find it in familiar places.

When Filemonk fulfils a digital item, Shopify expects tracking information. Filemonk can put the download page link there instead. Customers looking for their order in Shopify's own emails and order pages then find a working link where they already expect one.

## Before you begin

This works alongside automatic fulfilment, since tracking information is attached when an item is fulfilled. See [Fulfil digital products automatically](https://help.filemonk.io/fulfil-orders-automatically/).

## Set it up

1. Click **Filemonk** in the left menu of your Shopify admin.
2. Click **Settings** in the app's menu, then open the **Email** tab.
3. In the **Fulfillment** section, turn on **Add download link to tracking info**.

## What customers will see

Where Shopify would normally show a courier tracking link, they see a link to their download page, in the shipping confirmation and on the order status page.

## Check your setup

Place a test order and open it in Shopify. The fulfilled digital item should carry the download page as its tracking link. Follow the link to confirm it works. See [Create a test order](https://help.filemonk.io/create-a-test-order/).

## Troubleshooting

### No tracking link appears

The item was not fulfilled by Filemonk, so nothing was attached. Check automatic fulfilment is on and that the order was processed. See [Fulfil digital products automatically](https://help.filemonk.io/fulfil-orders-automatically/).

### Customers are confused by a tracking number on a digital item

It is a link rather than a courier number, and the wording around it comes from Shopify's templates. Adjust that wording in Shopify's notification settings if it reads oddly for digital orders.

### Mixed orders show two different tracking entries

Expected. The digital item carries the download link, the physical one carries the courier's tracking.

## FAQ

### Does it replace the download email?

No. It is another route to the same page, useful when the email is missed.

### Does it work without automatic fulfilment?

Fulfilling by hand from Filemonk also attaches the link. What does not attach it is fulfilling directly in Shopify.

### Can I use a different link?

No. It is the order's download page, which is the one that enforces your access rules.
