# Emails and reports Filemonk sends you

> Choose which usage reports and system notifications reach your inbox.

Separately from the emails customers get, Filemonk sends you reports and alerts: usage summaries, feature announcements, and a warning when your licence keys are running low. You choose which, and to which address.

## Set it up

1. Click **Filemonk** in the left menu of your Shopify admin.
2. Click **Settings** in the app's menu, then open the **Other** tab.
3. Find **Notifications**.
4. Set the **Email address** that should receive reports and system notifications.
5. Choose what you want:
   1. **Notify me about new features & updates**.
   2. **Notify me about weekly/monthly usage**.
   3. **Send email when licence keys are about to be exhausted**, with a **Threshold** for how many remaining keys triggers it.
6. Save.

## Which to keep on

**Usage notifications** are worth keeping if you are near a plan limit, since running out of storage or orders stops delivery for customers. If you are comfortably inside your plan, they are noise. See [Usage alerts](https://help.filemonk.io/usage-alerts/).

**Licence key exhaustion** matters if you sell licensed software. Running out mid-sale means customers buy and receive nothing, so set the threshold high enough to give you time to add more. See [Handle orders without licence keys](https://help.filemonk.io/orders-without-licence-keys/).

## Check your setup

Confirm the address is one you actually read, particularly if it is a shared inbox where automated mail gets filtered.

## Troubleshooting

### I'm not getting any of these emails

Check the address here rather than assuming it follows your store's email, then look in spam. Shared inboxes often filter automated mail into a folder nobody watches.

### I found out about a limit too late

Turn on usage notifications and, for licence keys, raise the threshold so the warning arrives while you still have time to act.

### Too many emails

Turn off feature updates and keep the usage ones, which are the operational alerts.

### Licence key warnings never arrive

Confirm the setting is on and the threshold is above your current stock. A threshold below what you have already used never triggers.

## FAQ

### Can several people receive them?

One address is set here. Use a shared inbox or a forwarding alias if more than one person should see them.

### Does this affect customer emails?

No. These are for you. Customer emails are configured on the Email tab. See [Customize the email template](https://help.filemonk.io/customize-the-email-template/).

### What threshold should I set for licence keys?

Enough for your normal sales volume plus the time it takes you to generate more. If you sell 20 a week and it takes two days to produce a batch, a threshold around 20 is sensible.

### Can I get these as a report instead?
