# Remove Powered by Filemonk

> Take the Filemonk branding off your download page and emails.

By default a "Powered by Filemonk" line appears on the download page and in download emails. On paid plans you can hide it, so the whole post-purchase experience reads as yours.

## Before you begin

Hiding the branding is a paid feature. On other plans the setting is visible but offers an upgrade instead.

## Set it up

The setting appears in both places it applies. Changing it in one covers the download page and the email together:

1. Click **Filemonk** in the left menu of your Shopify admin.
2. Click **Settings** in the app's menu.
3. On the **Email** tab, look for the branding setting, which shows as **'Powered by Filemonk' visible** or **'Powered by Filemonk' watermark hidden**. Switch it to hidden.

You can also set it inside the editors: **Remove 'Powered by Filemonk' watermark** in the download page editor, and **Hide 'Powered by Filemonk' watermark** in the email editor.

## Check your setup

Place a test order and check both the email and the download page. The line should be gone from each. See [Create a test order](https://help.filemonk.io/create-a-test-order/).

## Troubleshooting

### The setting offers an upgrade instead of switching

Your plan does not include it. See [Filemonk pricing and plans](https://help.filemonk.io/pricing-and-plans/).

### It's gone from the email but not the download page

Check the download page editor's own setting and save there too, then reload the page in a private window.

### It reappeared

Almost always a plan change. If you downgraded, the branding returns with the other paid features.

## FAQ

### Does it remove Filemonk from the URL too?

No, that is separate. To serve the download page from your own domain, use the branded link. See [Use your own branded link for downloads](https://help.filemonk.io/use-a-branded-download-link/).

### Can I hide it on the page but not the email?

Each editor has its own control, so in principle yes, though customers usually see both and inconsistency looks like a mistake.

### Does hiding it affect support?

No. Support is unchanged; it is a branding line only.
